The TracStar No.412 is a self-contained, self-propelled, all-terrain hydraulic fusion machine. The machine allows for butt fusion, also referred to as heat fusion, of most fittings without special holders or removal of the outer jaw. Mitered inserts are available for fabricating ells in the shop or in the field. It fits in a standard long box truck bed for easy transport. The carriage may be easily removed for in-ditch use.

In 1952, Art McElroy took the first steps in realizing his dream by starting his company in a small garage in Tulsa Oklahoma. He had little more than an unquenchable thirst for the science of design, and a strong foundation in his wife Panny. They put their honest work ethic in motion and watched their dream come to fruition.

McElroy Manufacturing Inc. not only designs, manufactures and markets the industry's most complete line of heat fusion equipment, it also sets the standard for fintube machines and the fluid power industry. Furthermore, MMI has an extensive history in design and has engineered a wide array of custom machines.

In the early 1960's MMI became a forerunner in the market for fintube machinery. Art McElroy refined the design of the machine, as we know it, over a period of about 15 years. At the end of the 1960's, MMI was shipping fintube machinery all over the world including England, South Africa, Italy, Germany, Holland and Asia. MMI holds 24 U.S. and foreign patents on fintube related equipment and it is estimated that as much as 80% of all fintubes have been made by MMI machines.

In 1969 MMI designed its first polyethylene fusion machine. Today the comprehensive line of butt fusion equipment is considered to be the best in the world and touts a 70% to 80% market share. Today MMI holds over 19 U.S. and foreign patents on fusion related equipment.

In 1983 MMI added the fluid power division to the company. McElroy Fluid Power became a regional distributor of hydraulic components. The initial strategy was to lower cost of their fluid power needs. It soon became a major venture to market hydraulic equipment nationally. Now McElroy Fluid Power is a leading supplier of mobile hydraulic components.

Art McElroy was an outstanding inventor, engineer, designer and businessman who established strongholds in three separate industries before his death in 1988. During the same year Chip McElroy, his son, took over the direction of the company. Since that time MMI has experienced its greatest period of economic growth.

Today MMI has placed its stamp on the world as a leader in engineering and manufacturing. MMI has continued throughout its history to place a strong emphasis on product development and improvement to insure its position at the top. That is why MMI is known as 'The Leader by Design.'
